It's Spring!

It has been so nice to finally have the weather feel more like spring. On Monday I went out and bought some flowers for our front. I got Gerbera Daisies of course! 






Planting flowers in my yard made me think about making flowers for mother's day. Here's some paper flowers that my students made. For instructions on how to make them, click here. 



We also made cards for mother's day today. They were pretty creative!

    I know this adorable almost two year old. He's a curious little guy who loves toy cars, his brother, and learning new words. I've enjoyed getting to know him over the past year. A month ago, I realized this little boy's birthday was coming up and decided to make him something. Feeding Ducks

     Yesterday, Jamal and I went to do one of our favorite things: feeding the ducks. Okay, maybe it's one of MY favorite things and Jamal is happy to watch. We started this tradition when we were dating. There is a duck pond at Nielson's Grove in Orem. The first time Jamal took me, it was winter and we had gotten hot chocolate to drink and then decided to walk around the park. Stupidly, I was wearing really thin flats with no socks. We decided to go to the duck pond because we had some bread. We thought it would only take us a second to walk through the park to the duck pond, but we were wrong. We trudged through the snow, me in my flats, and Jamal in sneakers, until we found the pond. By that time, my feet were numb, but I didn't want to say anything. We fed the ducks and then trudged back to the car. Jamal realized how cold my feet must be and turned the heat so it was directed on my feet all the way home. Tis the Season!

      Yesterday marked a small milestone for Jamal and I that we want to celebrate. Yesterday was our 6th month anniversary. We woke up yesterday and wished each other a happy 6th month anniversary and reflected on some of our experiences of the last year we've known each other. It's mind boggling how fast time can go by.  We truly  feel blessed that we both are married to each other.         Yesterday we watched some of the Christmas videos. They were a really good reminder of the reason for this season and why we should celebrate Christ's birth.      After the videos, we thought about how we send birthday cards to people when it's their birthday, and why shouldn't we write a birthday card to Christ? We each took a minute and wrote one which proved to be an excellent reminder of all the things we are thankful for that Christ has given us.
